Spotify offline streaming on Wear OS: What is the glory of the story (yawning)?

[ad_1]
We are years later and the situation is as clear as mud

Cuando Spotify se lanzó por primera vez en Wear OS en 2018, we would not have imagined that, more than two years later, we would still be waiting for offline streaming to be supported.

Especially considering that Wear OS, or rather Android Wear, what was it called at that time, realmente habilitó el almacenamiento de música local en 2014.

During years, Wear OS users have been harassing Spotify developers on the community forum, and finally this week they finally got a definitive answer: se estaban implementando listas de reproducción sin conexión …; Hallelujah.

Fue la palabra de ‘;Goodman’;, a community manager on the forum:

;Hola amigos. I am setting this to Deployed and let me try to explain why.

The ability to log out with Wear OS has been implemented. You can find our own specific support page here. At the moment, this page also provides this link, that can be useful. ;

¡Woo-hoo!

Except it looks like Goodman did a boo-boo. After being surveyed by users, it became clear that there is not a single Wear OS watch that offers such a feature.

  • Better picks: The best smartwatches to buy now
  • Rivals: The best running watches with music playback

containing, Tizen remains the only smartwatch platform where offline Spotify streaming is possible, even the Apple Watch is missing. (También está disponible en Garmin Forerunner 245 Music Edition).

Since then, Spotify has tried to make things clear with a statement:

;Hola de nuevo a todos,

We were wrong about this. As you know, offline playback is currently not supported for Spotify on Wear OS. Sorry for our mistake with the recent update here in Community.

Your feedback is reaching Spotify teams and they have turned this idea into review..

Keep voting and watch this space for more updates. ;

What a kick in the nuts. It will never happen, true?

Kudos to the guys at Android Central for digging into this.
